Rutgers' Stringer joins 800-win club

PISCATAWAY, N.J. — The 800-win club has a new member: C. Vivian Stringer.
Stringer joined Pat Summitt and Jody Conradt as the only women’s basketball coaches to win 800 games as No. 4 Rutgers beat DePaul, 60-46, on Wednesday night.
Knowing it was a special night, DePaul coach Doug Bruno had his entire team shake Stringer’s hand during warmups. Bruno also coached DePaul when Summitt beat the Blue Demons for her 800th.
Essence Carson scored 20 points and Epiphanny Prince added 15 to lead Rutgers (23-4, 13-1 Big East), which moved into a tie with UConn atop the Conference. The Huskies visit DePaul on Saturday and the Scarlet Knights host Syracuse before a showdown Monday night with the Huskies in Hartford.
NO. 8 BAYLOR 76, COLORADO 62: In Waco, Texas, Angela Tisdale scored 30 points, including 17 on free throws for the No. 8 Bears.
Rachel Allison had 13 and Kelli Griffin 11 points for Baylor (24-3, 12-2 Big 12).
Jackie McFarland scored 20 and Brittany Spears had 16 points and 14 rebounds for Colorado (15-12, 4-10).
NO. 10 OKLAHOMA 65, TEXAS TECH 55: In Lubbock, Texas, Courtney Paris and Danielle Robinson each scored 19 points to lead the No. 10 Sooners.
Oklahoma (21-5, 11-3 Big 12) went on a 14-4 run to take a 60-52 lead with four minutes remaining.
Jordan Murphree scored 18 points and Maria Moore added 12 for Texas Tech (16-12, 4-10).
NO. 14 NOTRE DAME 92, SOUTH FLORIDA 49: In South Bend, Ind., Lindsey Schrader had 17 points and 13 rebounds and Brittany Mallory and Charel Allen added 14 points each.
The Fighting Irish (22-6, 10-4 Big East) shot 49 percent and dominated inside, outrebounding South Florida 48-37 and outscoring the Bulls 48-18 in the paint.
Shantia Grace led the Bulls (13-14, 3-11) with 15 points and Melissa Dalembert added 10 points. South Florida shot 34 percent and had 23 turnovers.
