LSU Museum of Art
Located in the Shaw Center for the Arts, the LSU Museum of Art opened in March 2005. The museum, part of Louisiana State University, manifests a decade-long vision to offer the community greater access to its diverse art collection, changing exhibitions, education programs and special events.

In midcity, Circa 1857, 1857 Government St., opens every third Thursday from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Other Mid-City galleries include the Funky Palette, Rue Cou Cou, Caffery Gallery, Elizabethan Gallery, Taylor Clark, Baton Rouge Gallery in historic City Park and Ann Connelly Fine Art.
For the past few months, local artists have presented fresh and diverse one-night-only exhibitions entitled “Stabbed in the Art” at 1284 Perkins Road.
