  • Published: Mar 6, 2008

The Red Stick Hibiscus Association is a nonprofit hibiscus club and one of three Louisiana chapters of the American Hibiscus Society. It is in its fifth year and one of the most successful at the national level in terms of member numbers and fundraisers.

The next regular meeting will be at 2 p.m. March 8 in the Orangerie at Burden Research Center on Essen Lane at Interstate 10.

There are two major fundraising events for the association each year in March and May. The March exhibit is at the Baton Rouge Spring Garden Show, March 29 and 30 at the John M. Parker Agricultural Coliseum on Highland Road, on the LSU campus.

The second major fundraiser is the RSHA Annual Hibiscus Show and Sale at Burden Research Center on May 4.

Membership is $35 per year with $25 going to the national organization and $10 remaining in the local chapter. Memberships run from June 1 to May 31.
