NEW CAR PREVIEW 2008

Hatchbacks, small cars, minicars and sedans are the hottest properties for 2008, mostly fueled by consumers’ desires to cut fuel costs.


“At Ford, we believe small cars and crossovers will continue to grow in the coming years,” says George Pipas, Ford’s U.S. sales analysis manager.


In the past, some automakers were their own worst enemies, as in the case when they began the practice of “cloning.” The cloning of cars involves marketing the same vehicle using different brand names to build a “new” product for the showroom.
