Lampe Berger oil scents: This is a truly unique collection, said Holiday Hallmark store manager Sue Whitehead. She explained that, once lit, they don’t burn from a flame but instead a hot stone, which releases the scent from the oil-soaked wick. The stone is then cooled when desired by a cap, which also serves to prevent the oil from evaporating.
The lamps, invented 100 years ago in France, were originally used in hospitals for sanitary purposes because the items have antibacterial properties, Whitehead said.
“It removes odors from the air,” she said. “It doesn’t just cover them up.”
Scents range from Caramel and Amber Powder to Lavender Fields and even a neutral, odor-killing “non” scent.
