NEW ORLEANS — After the Saints defeated San Francisco, 31-17, despite 13 penalties a week ago, coach Sean Payton warned that his team would pay a price if it continued to make mistakes at a similar rate. He was proven right when the Saints stumbled and bumbled their way to a 30-27 loss against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night in the Superdome.

NEW ORLEANS — In a wild and emotional rollercoaster of a game Monday night, the New Orleans Saints needed a spark in the worst way as the final two minutes of the third quarter ticked off the clock.

On the evening of Sept. 6, 2007, the Saints went into their season opener against the defending Super Bowl champion Indianapolis Colts as the favorites to represent the NFC in Super Bowl XLII.

METAIRIE - The New Orleans Saints made five roster moves today to reach the NFL limit of 75 players. All teams have until 3 p.m. Tuesday to reduce the roster, but coach Sean Payton decided to get it done early.


NEW ORLEANS — No Saints player was more eager than running back Deuce McAllister to participate in the preseason game against Houston on Saturday night in the Superdome.


NEW ORLEANS — The preseason version of the 2008 New Orleans Saints looked a lot — an awful lot in some cases — like the Saints of a year ago in their home opener Saturday night.
