Authorities arrested at least three people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 3 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday, booking records show.


At least two people died in separate incidents on Baton Rouge area roadways Sunday, authorities said. In Livingston Parish, an 84-year-old Tennessee man was killed Sunday morning when a train hit his van, Livingston Police Chief Randy Dufrene said.


ALEXANDRIA — Authorities are investigating a one-vehicle crash that killed two people Saturday on U.S. 171, south of New Llano in Vernon Parish.


Authorities arrested at least five people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 3 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. Saturday, booking records show.


LAFAYETTE — A bewildered look, maybe a double take and then the question: “Am I in trouble?” typically greet Lafayette Parish sheriff’s deputies Shannon Miller and Marvin Simien when students called to school offices see the two officers waiting to speak to them.


ZACHARY — A Centreville, Miss., man died Thanksgiving Day after a 15-minute vehicle and foot chase with Zachary police. Randall Earl West Jr. was pronounced dead at Lane Regional Medical Center, Police Chief John Herty said. West was about 30 years old, he said.
