Letter: Alabama fan hails Tiger tailgaters

I just returned from my first visit to Baton Rouge since I was a player in the Alabama-LSU football game there in 1973.
I was not sure what to expect from the LSU fans and had heard that it could be quite a hostile environment for visitors.
However, I have to say that our reception by the LSU faithful before the game could not have been a more pleasant experience.
We were welcomed warmly, served some of the best Cajun food we’ve ever had, and talked to some of the nicest people we’ve ever met.
I’ve been to some excellent tailgating parties in the past, but none compare to the way you do it in Baton Rouge. I would have to give LSU fans the prize for best tailgating in the nation.
Geaux, Tigers! Good luck the rest of the season.
