Letter: We can’t afford another Republican

The Republicans have some great speech writers. They make claims about how well they can run the country and what a great job they will do. It all sounds great, but what have they done in the past?
The last three Republican presidents (Reagan, Bush and Bush) have all created a recession, have all left us record deficits and had chaos in the financial markets of this country. Do you remember the savings & loan crisis that cost taxpayers billions of dollars? It is reminiscent to the current mortgage crisis.
Those three Republicans have spent trillions of dollars on military hardware and wars to defend the country, but allowed a bunch of radicals to kill thousands of Americans using boxcutters and pepper spray. Their economic theories (some have called it voodoo economics) obviously do not work.
The current Bush “reverse socialism” plan (tax the poor and give to the rich) has been a hopeless failure. Now you might think I’m a big fan of the Democrats. Not really, but what other choice do we have? I don’t think our country can afford another Republican.
