I think the veto was planned all along.
This was just the piece of legislation Gov. Bobby Jindal needed to open the eyes of Louisiana residents.
It’s a perfect setup. Tell the legislators they can have the raise if they are willing to vote for it, and then once the votes have been cast and there is a record of it, cut their legs out from under them by vetoing the bill.
The plan is elegant in its simplicity.
