Letter: Suspend governor title for Jindal
Since Gov. Bobby Jindal has wimped out by refusing to veto the legislative pay raise, it’s good to see at least House Speaker Jim Tucker the target of a recall effort.
If other voters feel the same sense of outrage against their own legislators, perhaps the Secretary of State’s Office should conduct a seminar on the ins and outs of conducting a recall petition in other legislative districts.
It’s a complicated business, made so by public officials who put many technical stumbling blocks in the way of such an effort.
Jindal has gone back on a written campaign promise to “prohibit” legislative pay raises from taking effect before a subsequent election of legislators.
It seems appropriate to suspend use of the honorific “Gov.” in front of Bobby Jindal’s name, since he declines to do so.
