Letter: Is the pay raise a form of bribery?

Seems to me that allowing members of the Legislature to give themselves such a hefty raise in exchange for their cooperation in getting the governor’s agenda passed is a lot like bribery (hmm — votes in exchange for money that comes in the form of salary payments).
Once again, the people of Louisiana are footing the take. Gov. Bobby Jindal has joined the ranks of Edwin Edwards and Huey Long in his failure to veto the Legislature’s pay raise.
Guess Louisiana will have to continue to wait a little longer for honesty in government.
Shame on Gov. Jindal.
