Letter: Of course legislators were laughing

I want to comment on the pay raises for the legislators.
How can they in all honesty raise their pay when pay raises for the police and firemen were ignored? This is a crime!
The legislators do not put their lives on the line every day as do the police and firefighters.
Also, the pictures in The Advocate June 17 show them all laughing. Of course, they have “screwed” the people of Louisiana again. And, our governor is going along with this, even though he says he does not approve of it?
I understand there are some who didn’t vote for it. Let us remember those who did next election.
