Print out the online form and fax it to 225.388.0175. You may also email your submissions to obits@theadvocate.com. The funeral home in charge of arrangements and telephone numbers must be listed. (Note: Name of funeral home is required. We cannot print an obituary if the death is not verified.) If you need assistance, please call 225.388.0289.
There is a $2.15 per day charge for each line of an obituary notice as it appears in the printed edition. To include a photograph, there is an additional charge is $10.75 per day. A deposit of $100 per day is required by 3 p.m. the day BEFORE the obituary is to run in the paper if the customer is paying cash, check or money order. A $50 basic obituary containing limited information also is available; prepayment is required. Please note that cash payments are only accepted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. On weekends and holidays, only credit cards, checks or money orders are accepted. All obituaries that appear in the printed edition also appear in the online edition at no additional charge. Photos with obituaries
Photographs may be printed with paid obituaries. The photograph must be delivered to The Advocate by 3:00 p.m. the day before the obituary is to be published. Please print on the back of the photograph exactly as the name will appear in the obituary. The photograph may be left at the front desk of The Advocate at 7290 Bluebonnet Boulevard. After publication, the photograph may be picked up at the front desk or returned by mail. To be returned, please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope and also put the return address on the back of the photograph. The Advocate is not responsible for the photograph. The quality of the photograph will determine the quality of its reproduction in the newspaper.
