Hospice advocate Dr. James Rivet dies
LAFAYETTE — Dr. James Robert “Bob” Rivet, 76, former medical director of Hospice of Acadiana, died Monday.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Martin & Castille Funeral Home. A wake service is scheduled for 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
After retiring from his successful practice as a neurosurgeon, Rivet dedicated his time as a volunteer physician for the nonprofit hospice agency, according to a news release.
