Ferdinand Nickles was wanted in connection with the Sept. 27 death of 20-year-old Ernest Guidry Jr.
Authorities found Guidry’s body inside a burned vehicle on Adier Road during the early morning hours of Sept. 28.
Nickles allegedly shot and killed Guidry and then set him and his truck on fire, authorities reported.
The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Lafayette began working on the investigation early on.
An investigation showed that Nickles fled Lafayette to New Orleans on Oct. 2.
He then traveled to the Atlanta area about Oct. 15, according to a news release from the U.S. Marshals Office.
The U.S. Marshals South East Regional Task Force found Nickles Nov. 13 hiding behind a refrigerator.
Nickles was arrested after a brief struggle, the release says.
