The New Roads Chiropractic Center is participating in the “Helping Hands” program in which area residents receive free chiropractic services in exchange for donating food for the needy.
Those wishing to participate are invited to stop by the center, 331 Hospital Road, New Roads, on Nov. 11 to receive examinations and treatments in exchange for a bag of nonperishable food items. Donations also will be accepted from residents who don’t wish to be examined or treated.
Suggested items for donation include canned meat, canned fruits and vegetables, bags of rice, dried beans, powdered milk, cereal, baby food, peanut butter and Jell-O gelatin.

Iberville salutes veterans
The U.S. Army Band, area armed forces color guards, and the Iberville Math, Science and Arts Academy orchestra will perform during the “Iberville Salute to Veterans” event at 3 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Iberville Parish Veterans Memorial near the courthouse.
Iberville veterans’ military memorabilia dating back to World War II will be on display from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the memorial.

Learn about Germans
The Iberville Museum is hosting “A Book and Art” at 2 p.m. Saturday.
The free program is billed as a double feature where guests can meet writer Ellen Merrill, author of “Germans of Louisiana,” as well as local artist Henry Neubig, known for his “mud paintings.”
The program is in conjunction with the museum’s “Germans of Iberville” exhibit on display through Dec. 1.
