Carencro man sought in attempted murder
LAFAYETTE — Police are searching for 53-year-old Paul Brown of Carencro in connection with the attempted second-degree murder of a woman Sunday night.
Police said in a news release that Brown allegedly cut a woman on her head and neck during a disturbance about 6:30 p.m. in a parking lot in the 1200 block of Northwest Evangeline Thruway.
The victim escaped the vehicle the two were in and fled.
The cuts were minor, the victim was treated and release stated.
A warrant for attempted second-degree murder has been issued for Brown’s arrest, the release said..
He is believed to be living in Carencro and works as a painter, the release said.

Duson man killed in one-car accident
MAURICE — A 21-year-old Duson man died early Saturday morning in a single-vehicle crash.
Louisiana State Police reported in a news release that Jeremy Senegal was traveling west on La. 92 when his vehicle left the south side of the road and struck an embankment on a private driveway.
The vehicle flipped onto its roof and was submerged in a drainage canal. Senegal did not exit the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene, the release stated.
The crash occurred shortly before 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
