The Ascension Community Theatre is holding auditions Nov. 7 for its annual children’s Christmas show to run Dec. 17 through Dec. 20 at the Pasqua Theatre.

“A Play on Christmas” director Ami Clouatre-Johnson said there are 50 openings for the production, including cast, technical crew and back stage helpers.

Auditions are from 9 a.m. to noon and there is no fee.

‘Women in Pink’ set

The Community Sisterhood is hosting its annual “Women in Pink Program” on Nov. 7 to raise breast cancer awareness at the Geismar Community Center, 12060 La. 73.

The 3 p.m. program will recognize breast cancer patients in the area.

Council sets meeting times

Beginning Thursday, all regular Parish Council meetings will start at 6 p.m.

The time change will bring council meetings, which have traditionally started at 7 p.m., in line with most parish committee meetings, which typically start at 6 p.m., Council Chairman Pat Bell said.

The time change will go into effect with the Nov. 5 council meeting in Donaldsonville. The council’s second meeting of month, on the third Thursday, is at the Ascension Courthouse Annex in Gonzales.

After the time change, all council meetings will continue to be televised live on Ascension Channel 21.
