Authorities seek woman in robbery
NEW IBERIA — The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office is searching for a woman who robbed a bank Wednesday afternoon in New Iberia.
According to a news release, the woman walked into Capital One Bank, in the 1100 block of East Admiral Doyle Drive, and handed a teller a note demanding $6,000 and telling her not to scream or call the police or she would kill her.
The robber is described as a black woman about 5-feet, 5-inches tall, wearing large white sunglasses, a black jacket, a decorated white shirt and blue jeans.
The woman, who never produced a weapon, fled after receiving the money. No one was injured.

Dead man found floating in Teche
NEW IBERIA — Authorities recovered a body floating in the Bayou Teche on Wednesday afternoon.
The man, whose identity was not released, is believed to be a New Iberia man reported missing by family members Saturday morning, according to an Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office news release.
A tugboat captain reported seeing the body about 1:38 p.m. Wednesday.
Responding deputies and a civilian boater recovered the body and brought it to the landing at City Park, the release stated.
The Iberia Parish Coroner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death, the release stated.
