Police seek suspect in July 4 shooting
LAFAYETTE — Police issued an arrest warrant for a 19-year-old Lafayette man wanted on four counts of attempted se cond-degree murder in a July 4 shooting incident.
Police said Manuel King allegedly fired one shot in the direction of four people sitting on the front porch of a residence in the 700 block of Poplar Street.
Afterward, King allegedly sped away in a vehicle, police said.
No one was reported injured in the shooting.

Lafayette police to hold checkpoint
LAFAYETTE — Area law enforcement will conduct an operating while intoxicated checkpoint Thursday from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. somewhere within the incorporated limits of Lafayette.
Lafayette Police Department, Lafayette Sheriff’s Office and the Broussard Police Department will conduct the operation.
