GRAMERCY — A 57-year-old man is accused of kidnapping and raping a 14-year-old girl Wednesday afternoon.

The victim was riding a bicycle to a friend’s house when the suspect, Samuel Gordon, of Gramercy, forced her off the bike and dragged her to his rental house on South Oak Street, said Capt. Sid Berthelot, chief of detectives for the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Inside the house, Gordon allegedly raped the girl, who eventually escaped and ran to her grandmother’s house, Berthelot said Thursday.

The victim’s grandmother called police about 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The teenager was taken to East St. James Hospital in Lutcher for medical treatment.

When deputies attempted to arrest Gordon on Wednesday night, he complained of chest pains and also was taken to the hospital, Berthelot said.

Upon Gordon’s release, he faces arrest on accusations of aggravated rape, second-degree kidnapping, indecent behavior with a juvenile, and molestation of a juvenile, Berthelot said.

They need to start executing people that rape or molest kids under the age of 17.

I feel for the parents of the child. And I hope for their sake that the rapist or his family is not big campaign contributors. DA Fix it Falterman and 1st Ass. DA Rubber Stamp Ricky Babin let a 20 something year old animal have sex with a 12 year old little girl. And they blamed the family of the little girl.. And nothing happen to the male animal. Now she is 14 and has her first child and is in school. Good luck and don't count on the DA's office if you are not a friend or a contributor.

Everyone is entitled to a fair and swift trial...swift being the operative word here. Now, at his trial they should stand him on a box with a rope around his neck...if he's found innocent, remove the rope...if he's found guilty, remove the box. Next please.

James 5:14,15 says Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up;and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Lord in the name of JESUS please forgive this man of his sickness, we as Christians can only pray for him and the family of this 14year old child that GOD restore everything that he has stolen from her in the name of JESUS;let GOD handle what he has done to this child, we are not to judge,GOD IS A FORGIVEN GOD

I can't improve on what Mr. Miller said above, we need to permanently eliminate people who commit this type of crime, one strike you're out.
