Plaquemine wreck sends seven to hospital
PLAQUEMINE — Seven people involved in a three-vehicle wreck Wednesday were taken to a Baton Rouge hospital for treatment of injuries, the Police Department reported.
Police Capt. Kenny Payne gave this account of the wreck.
A vehicle pulling out of a convenience store parking lot on La. 75 was hit by a westbound vehicle.
The impact of the crash knocked the first vehicle into the eastbound lanes of traffic, where it struck a glancing blow on a third vehicle, causing that third vehicle to veer off the road and into a tree.
All seven people involved in the wreck were transported to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, including two people in the vehicle exiting the parking lot, the driver in the westbound vehicle, and a 61-year-old woman and three children ages 4, 7 and 12 traveling in the eastbound vehicle.
None of the seven suffered life-threatening injuries, police said.
