NAPOLEONVILLE — Investigations into separate cases of cruelty to a juvenile and sexual misconduct with a minor resulted in the arrests of three people, the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday.

Deputies also were waiting to arrest a fourth person — who is already in jail — in connection with a third case involving the molestation of a 4-year-old girl, deputies said in a statement.

Jacob Collingwood, 18, 134 Mary Ann St., Pierre Part, was arrested Tuesday at his residence on criminal counts of sexual battery and oral sexual battery of a 13-year-old in early September in Pierre Part, deputies said.

Collingwood was taken to Assumption Parish Detention Center. Bond has been set at $50,000, deputies said.

Lauren James, 19, and her boyfriend, Christopher Cook, 21, both of Railroad Avenue, Napoleonville, were arrested Tuesday at their home on counts of cruelty to a juvenile, deputies said.

School officials reported  James’ 4-year-old son had severe bruising on his back, arms and legs, deputies said.

After an investigation that tied Cook and James to the injuries, the 4-year-old and his 1-year-old brother were taken into custody of the state Office of Community Services and placed in a safe environment, deputies said.

James and Cook were held under $20,000 bonds each, deputies said.

In the third case, sheriff’s detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Timothy Randazzo Jr., 18, of La. 403, Paincourtville, on a count of molestation of a 4-year-old juvenile girl.

Randazzo was being held in Ascension Parish Jail on separate charges related to the aggravated rape of an 11-year-old girl.

A hold has been placed on Randazzo in connection with the Assumption Parish sheriff’s warrant, deputies said.

Anyone with information on the incidents described is asked to call (985) 526-1627 or (985) 369-2912.
