Police book man, 27, in father’s stabbing

A 27-year-old man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly stabbing his father in the back, causing him to suffer a collapsed lung and undergo surgery, court records show.

The stabbing occurred June 14 in a vehicle carrying Clint Willis Jr., his father, Clint Willis Sr., and his father’s girlfriend, an arrest warrant said.

The trio was riding in the area of Plank Road and Comite Drive when Clint Willis Jr. slapped Clint Willis Sr.’s girlfriend in the head, the warrant said.

Clint Willis Sr. hit Clint Willis Jr., who then stabbed his father twice in the back, the warrant said.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Clint Willis Jr., 39778 E. Sam Arnold Loop, Ponchatoula, and booked him into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a count of attempted second-degree murder.

Suspect surrenders in Sunday shooting

A 22-year-old Prairieville man surrendered to East Baton Rouge Parish deputies Thursday in a shooting that sent one man to a hospital Sunday.

A description of Christopher K. Nkadi’s vehicle led sheriff’s detectives to his home at 39092 James Drive, said sheriff’s spokeswoman Casey Rayborn Hicks.

The detectives, along with Ascension Parish sheriff’s deputies, found a weapon and ammunition at the residence.

Nkadi, who was not at home at the time, later surrendered, Hicks said.

Nkadi is accused of shooting a 22-year-old man in the parking lot of University Crescent Apartments, 4500 Burbank Drive, on Sunday morning, Hicks said.

Nkadi allegedly followed the victim to the parking lot from Mike’s Bar on Bob Petit Boulevard, where the two had been arguing, Hicks said.
