3 arrested on counts of inciting riot

HAMMOND — Tangipahoa Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested a Hammond woman who punched a man in the face and attempted to recruit others to beat him up, the Sheriff’s Office said in a Monday release.
Ebone Brumfield, 20, 43303 Klein Road, Hammond, went to the man’s house Saturday night and yelled at him while he worked in his yard. She punched him after the man told her to leave several times, deputies said.
Brumfield then called several people to come to the man’s house, deputies said. At the house, a deputy caught up with Brumfield and she told him that two men were heading to the victim’s house to beat him up, deputies said.
Deputies arrested Brumfield on counts of inciting a riot and simple battery.
Deputies also arrested Justin Brumfield, 17, 46068 Milton Road, Hammond, and a 16-year-old boy, whose name was not released, on counts of inciting a riot, deputies said.
The 16-year-old was released to his parents, deputies said.
