Paulina man booked on 1,980 porn counts
PAULINA — St. James Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested a 42-year-old man on 1,980 counts of pornography involving juveniles.
Detectives found the photographs on a computer owned by Darrin Paul Brumley, of Paulina, on April 2, said sheriff’s Capt. Sid Berthelot.
In addition to the counts of pornography involving juveniles, Brumley is accused of unlawful possession of video/videotapes of persons under 17 years of age, accessory after the fact for aggravated rape, inciting a felony, indecent behavior with juveniles, computer aided solicitation of a minor and cruelty to juveniles.
He also was arrested in connection with a probation violation in Texas regarding two counts of sexual assault of a child.
Brumley, arrested by the Plano Police Department in 1999, was sentenced to 10 years in October 2001, serving six months before being placed on probation until 2011, Berthelot said in a news release.
Brumley was held in the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office Corrections Center with bond set at $826,400.
