Deputies looking for man in attack on woman
TICKFAW — Tangipahoa Parish sheriff’s deputies said Thursday they are looking for a man accused of beating up his girlfriend and threatening to kill her with a kitchen knife.
Jermaine Brown, 28, 14145 Old Genesee Road, Tickfaw, is wanted for prosecution on counts of simple battery, aggravated assault/domestic violence and sexual battery, deputies said in a statement Thursday.
rown’s girlfriend told deputies that after he came home from work around 1:40 a.m. Thursday, they got into a fight.
Brown slapped her, causing her to fall on the bed, and then as she tried to get up, Brown jumped on top of her and began punching her in the face, deputies said the girlfriend told them.
Later, after he left the room, the girlfriend followed Brown to the kitchen where he got a knife from a drawer and threatened to kill her, deputies said they were told.
Brown chased the girlfriend around the house with the knife, until she locked herself in a room and called 911, deputies said.
Brown denied the allegations when deputies contacted him by telephone. Deputies tried to contact him again through the early morning Thursday.
Deputies said they recovered evidence at the house, including the black-and-silver knife that Brown allegedly used.
Those knowing Brown’s whereabouts are asked to contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 554-5245 or sheriff’s deputies at (985) 345-6150.
