Police seek suspect in robbery of eatery
Police are looking for whoever robbed Tiger’s Wings and injured an employee Monday evening.
The robber entered the restaurant at 10047 Florida Blvd. around 6:45 p.m. and robbed an employee at knifepoint, cutting him on the arm, police spokesman Capt. Bruce Bennett said in a news release.
The robber fled and the victim did not require any medical attention for the cut, he said.
Police are asking anyone with information about the robbery to call (225) 389-3845 or Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-7867.
1 booked with DWI at EBR Parish Prison
Authorities arrested at least one person suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked him into Parish Prison between 3 p.m. Sunday and 3 p.m. Monday, booking records show.
John Baird, 25, 2245 College Drive, Apt. 100, first-offense DWI and reckless operation.
Alleged drug deal ends with shooting
Two men were shot with an AK-47 assault rifle Monday evening during an alleged drug deal in the 5700 block of St. Katherine Avenue, police said.
The two victims told armed robbery detectives they had come to Baton Rouge for a drug deal but the man they were meeting robbed them, police spokesman Capt. Bruce Bennett said in a news release.
The robber fired 30 rounds from an AK-47 at the victims, shooting one in the leg and one in the stomach and shoulder, Bennett said.
The men went to a hospital, where the one shot in the stomach went into emergency surgery, Bennett said.
He remained in serious but stable condition late Monday, Bennett said.
