Wounds kill victim in Monday shooting
Zywaski Hatch, 22, 8297 Franwood Drive, died Thursday from gunshot wounds she received in a Monday shooting, police said Friday.

Hatch was shot about 7 p.m. while in a car in the 1200 block of North 39th Street, said Cpl. L’Jean McKneely, a police spokesman.

The shots came from a dark vehicle, but no detailed description was available, police have said. Anyone with information about the shooting can contact police at (225) 389-3948 or Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-7867.

Slaughter man held in October rape
John Walker Kelly was arrested Thursday for allegedly raping a woman last month.

The incident occurred on Oct. 29 at the woman’s Baton Rouge home, an arrest warrant says.

Police arrested Kelly, 29, 3467 La. 67, Slaughter, and booked him into Parish Prison on a count of simple rape.

Break-in, fight lead to 22-year-old’s arrest
A 22-year-old man landed in jail Thursday, accused of trying to run over two men after burglarizing their home.

Jonathan Lee Davenport broke into a residence Thursday on South Tiger Bend Road, an arrest affidavit says.

One of the two victims inside the residence woke up during the burglary and fought Davenport, the affidavit says.

When the other victim woke up, Davenport fled and tried to run over both victims with a Jeep Liberty, the affidavit says.

East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested Davenport, 6243 Chippendale Drive, and booked him into Parish Prison on two counts of attempted first-degree murder and one count each of burglary of an inhabited dwelling, theft, simple battery and simple criminal damage to property.

Police suspect man involved in shootings
West Baton Rouge Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested a 21-year-old man Friday in a shooting that occurred Nov. 6 in East Baton Rouge Parish.

Robert Williams, was booked into Parish Prison on two counts of attempted first-degree murder, and one count each of illegal use of a weapon and criminal damage to property.
