GOLDEN MEADOW — Deputies arrested Patrick Anthony Billiot, 35, 118 Jacob Drive, Golden Meadow, after he allegedly choked his girlfriend, then robbed his mother, the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office reported.

Billiot was booked into the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux where he remained Tuesday afternoon under a $14,000 bond.

He is accused of domestic abuse by choking and armed robbery. He also had warrants filed against him for violation of probation and contempt of court, deputies said.

The Sheriff’s Office said the first victim told investigators that Billiot, after taking Xanax, a brand-name drug prescribed for anxiety and panic disorders, grabbed her throat and attempted to suffocate her at his Golden Meadow residence.

According to a Sheriff’s Office news release, when the girlfriend broke free, Billiot then demanded pills from his mother, allegedly grabbing a knife after she first refused.

Once he received the pills from his mother, he threw the knife on the floor and went to the bedroom where he passed out, deputies reported.
