Comedian entertains at coaches’ banquet

Dr. Dennis Swanberg, a Christian comedian, was the featured speaker at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Coaches’ Appreciation Celebration April 13 at Harvest Family Church in Hammond.
Local coaches, students and adults listened to Swanberg’s inspiring stories and impressions, including that of John Wayne, Bill Clinton and Barney Fife.
At the banquet, Coach Mike Lucas, head football coach at Southeastern Louisiana University, told students how the organization has influenced him during his tenure as a player, assistant coach and head coach.
