Running for Office: Metro Council District 1, Fuller
Metro Council District 1 candidate Pat Fuller said that if he is elected, he will work toward a well-planned and strong infrastructure.
“There are a great deal of good things going on in District 1,” Fuller, 49, said in a statement.
“I feel that I can be very strong representing the district based on my real-world business views on economic growth, development and infrastructure,” he said.
Fuller, a Democrat, has owned and operated Sportsman One Stop Inc. on U.S. 61 for 25 years.
Fuller is running against candidates and fellow Democrats Brenda Bennett Carter and J.E. Trae Welch.
The current Metro District 1 Councilman, Wayne Carter, is not running for re-election because he is running for mayor-president.
The primary is Oct. 4.
District 1 covers the northern part of the parish, including the cities of Zachary and Baker.
Fuller said he will push to continue the residential, business and economic growth in District 1 while supporting the values and morals that have built the community.
“I am looking forward to working with our civil, clergy, firefighters, police and numerous other groups in our community because community involvement is the key to growth and success,” he said.
Fuller has lived in Zachary for 23 years. He and his wife, Linda, have two daughters and one son.
The couple also has a grandson.
“Given the opportunity to represent District 1, I will do so with pride, respect, and honesty to the very best of my ability as I do every day as a business owner and family man,” Fuller said.
