SU Radiothon raises $82,000 in donations

The Southern University System’s 19th annual Radiothon began Friday and has resulted in more than $82,000 in donations so far.
The Radiothon on Friday at Citadel Broadcasting aired live for 12 hours on three stations: KQXL-FM, WEMX-FM and WXOK-AM.
All proceeds from the 2009 Radiothon support the “Scholars of Promise Initiatives,” which funds scholarships, assistantships and youth programs.
The general scholarship fund is governed by an independent advisory board composed of Southern faculty and staff.
Donations and pledges to this year’s Radiothon can still be made until Friday by logging on to http://www.sus.edu and clicking on the SU Foundation link or by contacting the Southern Foundation Office at (225) 771-3911.
