Local student’s art on display in BR
LAFAYETTE — The artwork of Stephanie Wright, of Cecilia Senior High School, is on display at the Governor’s Mansion this month as part of the Jindal family’s initiative to feature young artists.
Other featured artists this month include: Megan Campbell, sixth grade, St. Edward the Confessor, Metairie; James Daniel, 12th grade, Ouachita Parish High School, Monroe; Sean Goebel, seventh grade; St. Edward the Confessor, Metairie; Lexi Peck, third grade, Westwood Elementary School, Westlake; and Abby Potor, seventh grade, West Ridge Middle School, West Monroe.
Dance auditions set for ULL show
LAFAYETTE — The University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s department of performing arts will hold auditions for “State of La Danse” at 5 p.m. Aug. 26 at McLaurin Hall.
The fall production, scheduled Oct. 8-10, will be choreographed by ULL faculty and guest artists.
Auditions are open to ULL performing arts majors and community dancers.
Auditioning dancers are asked to provide a résumé and photo, if available. For information, call (337) 482-6537.
