Jindal marks Denham Springs opening

Gov. Bobby Jindal dedicated the new headquarters of Bercen Inc. this morning in Denham Springs, where the specialty chemicals maker announced in June 2008 that it would move its headquarters from Rhode Island and increase jobs at an existing Eden Church Road site from 30 to 50.

Among Bercen’s 30 chemical products is a key one that waterproofs gypsum wall board. Bercen spent $5 million on a 13,000-square-foot office and laboratory facility, and it completed the project more than two months ahead of schedule.
