Ex-Engelhard executive joins Albemarle board

Barry W. Perry, former chairman and chief executive officer of materials science firm Engelhard Corp., will join the Albemarle Corp. board of directors effective Jan. 1.

Perry’s experience in polymer science, business and manufacturing management will strengthen Albemarle’s board, said Mark C. Rohr, Albemarle’s chairman and chief executive officer.

Perry’s experience includes time as a group vice president with  Rhone-Poulenc and in various executive positions in 22 years with General Electric.
