Architect Kevin Harris, of Baton Rouge, was inducted by the American Institute of Architects into the College of Fellows. This honor is awarded to architects who have made contributions of national significance to the profession of architecture, and is considered one of the highest honors bestowed to a select group of architects by a jury of their peers.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana has received the Local Corporation of the Year Award from the Louisiana Minority Supplier Development Council. The award honors the company that has consistently demonstrated commitment to minority business development through effective programs, awarding on contracts and sponsorship of minority purchasing organizations.

Zehnder Communications Inc. recently won its third Bronze Telly from 30th Annual Telly Awards, which honor the best cable TV commercials and programs, as well as video and film productions. Zehnder received the Bronze Telly, the second highest honor, for its Baton Rouge Area Foundation “Change the World a Llittle” video.

Kaplan Advertising, of Lafayette, and Blackwell Communications Group and WBRZ Production Services, of Baton Rouge, won a top honor at the Telly Awards for a public service announcement promoting seat belt awareness. The PSA, sponsored by the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission, features three young people in a car accident. The two who are not wearing seat belts die in the crash and their souls rise upward, while the third, who is wearing a seat belt, survives. The concept was produced by Kaplan Advertising and shot, directed and edited by WBRZ. Sound Design was created by Blackwell.
