Job fair targets Trinity Marine workers

The Louisiana Workforce Commission will conduct a Port Allen job fair on July 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with an emphasis on finding employment for workers losing their jobs at Trinity Marine Products. In May, the barge builder said it would cut 190 jobs in mid-July.
Employers can participate at no cost in the job fair, which is expected to draw workers who are mechanics, welders, electricians, pipefitters, and machine and heavy equipment operators.
The job fair is at the West Baton Rouge Conference Center, 2750 N. Westport Drive. Employers can register by calling Greg Anders at (225) 342-2934. The registration deadline is noon July 9.
