SDT gets its first BR waste contract -- LSU
SDT Waste and Debris, the trash contractor that cleans up the French Quarter, won the contract to provide recycling and waste disposal for LSU.
The contract, which begins July 1, is for one year with options to renew for an additional two years.
SDT said it is the company’s first major contract in Baton Rouge and that it will open an office in Baton Rouge and hire a dozen new employees.
SDT began serving Tangipahoa Parish as its municipal waste provider in May and has been inching its way toward Baton Rouge, picking up contracts in Independence and Hammond, the company said in a press release.
As part of the contract, SDT will continue LSU’s ongoing recycling program on campus with pickups of cardboard, aluminum, plastic and glass twice a week.
