LSU event to highlight energy advances
New developments in the efficiency of hybrid vehicles and nuclear power will highlight LSU’s Alternative Energy 2009 conference on April 22.
Among the speakers will be ExxonMobil plant manager Dan Schuessler, discussing new battery storage technologies to increase power and improve the durability and performance of electric and hybrid vehicles. Among the other topics will be compact nuclear reactors, biomass power production, using switchgrass as a feedstock for fuel refineries, the use of algae as a catalyst in biofuel and a campus energy panel featuring Chancellor Michael Martin.
Friday is the final day to pre-register at the center’s Web site (http://www.enrg.lsu.edu).
