New Walgreens coming to Denham, Lafayette

Walgreen Co. will open five new south Louisiana drugstores, including locations in Denham Springs and Lafayette, in the next 16 months.
The new Denham Springs store at South Range Avenue and Vincent Road will open by mid-2010, said Stirling Properties, the Covington-based real estate developer that represents Walgreen in the Gulf Coast region.
In Lafayette, a new drugstore will open in late 2009 at the intersection of U.S. 167 and Duhon Road near the Mall of Acadiana. Additional Walgreens stores will open in Kenner and Meraux in late 2009.
This month, the latest Walgreens in the Baton Rouge region opened at 5061 Main St. in Zachary. There are two dozen Walgreens in the greater Baton Rouge area and more than 6,600 nationwide.
