Albemarle allies with OptiFuel on technology

Albemarle Corp. and OptiFuel Technology Group, a coker technology development and licensing firm, will work together to commercialize a new coke additive technology designed to improve liquid and gas yields at refineries.

The two companies announced the agreement today.

The OptiFuel technology requires only minor modifications to cokers, used in the refining process to convert oil to gases, naphtha and petroleum coke.
