The Baton Rouge Area Chamber has launched a “Welcome Back to Baton Rouge” advertising campaign that targets former Baton Rouge and Louisiana residents now living in Atlanta, Dallas and Houston.

Through online and magazine ads targeted to that audience, the campaign promotes the availability of 15,000 high-paying jobs in the Baton Rouge area market.

“For too long, we have watched our young people leave our region for other areas of the country,” said BRAC Chief Executive Adam Knapp in a news release this morning. “We’re fortunate to have a healthy regional economy and the availability of high-paying, demanding and stimulating careers in our region. That’s why we’re proud to launch this project.”

Major sponsors of the $100,000 campaign, expected to run for several months, are Antares Technology Inc., the Ascension Economic Development Corp., Baton Rouge General, IEM Inc., the Livingston Economic Development Council Inc., The Shaw Group Inc. and the West Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce.

A new Web site, www.welcomebacktobr.com, drives interest in the region to employer ads, relocation and city guide materials. BRAC is asking friends and relatives of former residents to send them the link.
