Starmount to begin new building in Feb.

Starmount Life Insurance Co. has applied for a building permit for its $5 million, 25,000-square-foot building on Goodwood Boulevard across from Gambino’s bakery.
President Erich Sternberg said construction should begin in February on the one-story building and it should be completed by April 2010.
Sternberg said Starmount has 137 of its 150 employees at its current home off Jefferson Highway but needs more room than the 13,500 square feet it has.
He said when the company moves in it will have 150 employees and expects to grow to 200 within five years. He said the 6.5-acre site has room for growth and that plans are to increase it to 45,000 square feet on two floors in about five years.
The land is on the northwest corner of Goodwood and Connells Lane.
