Gov. Bobby Jindal has reappointed three members of the Greater Baton Rouge Port Commission and nominated one new member.

Greg Ellis, a financial adviser at EA Financial Group in St. Gabriel was chosen as a new representative for Iberville Parish, taking over for William Pugh.

The three members reappointed are:
  • Hall Davis IV, the owner of Hall Davis and Sons Funeral Services in Bueche, is a West Baton Rouge Parish representative.
  • Brady Hurdle, a Rosedale farmer, is an Iberville Parish representative.
  • Raymond Loup, owner of highway contractor RAD-TON Inc., is a West Baton Rouge Parish representative.
Jindal began shaking up the 15-member panel several weeks ago. Including Ellis, he has nominated nine new representatives. The appointments still must be confirmed in the state Senate.

The new nominees are: Kirt Bennett with Mutual Financial Network; Tim Hardy, managing partner at Lemle Kelleher LLP; Jerry Juneau, former deputy secretary-treasurer for the Louisiana teacher retirement system; Roy Pickren Jr., president of Crescent Technology Inc.; Randy Poche, president of Superior Office Products; Angela Machen, a graduate research fellow at Tulane’s Health Sciences Center; Port Allen farmer Don Schexnayder, who is vice president of the West Baton Rouge Farm Bureau Board and was nominated by the Farm Bureau.

In late September, Jindal nominated Blaine Sheets, owner of Specialized Industrial Maintenance in Gonzales.

If confirmed, the appointees would replace Grady Crawford, Calvin Ishmael, Joe Delpit, Barbara Ferdinand, Bill Rigell, Collis Temple III, Charles Thibaut and Bobby Watts.

Besides Davis, Hurdle and Loup, Jindal reappointed Randy Brian, a Zachary contractor and current commission president.

Alvin “Bully” Dragg, of Ascension Parish, and Larry Johnson, a West Baton Rouge representative, also remain commission members.

The realigned commission’s first meeting is set for Thursday.
