Name change, move
Resource One Mortgage is now part of Nationwide Home Lending and has been doing business under that name since Feb. 1.
The company has also moved to at 4212 American Way.
“Recent trends in the mortgage industry made this an optimum time to align ourselves with the power of a national lending institution,” said Bill Walker, branch manager.
Walker said that all underwriting, funding and closings will continue locally. The company’s loan officers remain the same.

Rural development
The Southern University Center for Rural and Small Business Development is hosting the “Connecting Businesses with Contracts” Procurement Opportunities Conference on March 18 at 8 a.m. in the Smith-Brown Memorial Student Union Cotillion Ballroom.
The conference is open to individuals, potential and existing business owners who are contractors or nonprofits in small towns and municipalities. Presenters and exhibitors will have information about business and contractors, sources of assistance, the registration and licensing process, as well as methods of financing.
Representatives from the U.S. Small Business Administration will discuss SBA programs, guarantees, certification processes, bonds and surety, loan programs. The Louisiana State Contracting and Licensing Department will also have representatives available.
