Flash Flood warning issued until noon for parts of EBR, WBR and Livingston parishes

A flash flood warning has been issued until noon by the National Weather Service for Northern East Baton Rouge, Northwestern Livingston and Central West Baton Rouge parishes.

At 8:54 a.m., flash flooding was observed at Metro Airport in North Baton Rouge. Rainfall rates of 3 to 4 inches per hour will continue to lead to additional flooding across the warned area.

Locations in the warning include, but are not limited to Greenwell Springs, Pride, Baker Central and Port Allen.

Do not drive your vehicle in areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually deeper than they appear. One foot of flowing water is powerful enough to sweep vehicles off the road.

A flash flood warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.  If you are in the warning area, move to higher ground immediately.

Information for this report from the National Weather Service.
