Help sought finding man missing for 2 years
ST. AMANT — Ascension Parish sheriff’s deputies said Monday they are seeking the public’s help in finding a man missing for more than two years.
Robert Alexis, of St. Amant, who was 47 at the time of his disappearance, was last seen by family members the morning of Jan. 29, 2008, at his home, Chief Sheriff’s Deputy Tony Bacala said Monday.
Alexis’ vehicle was later found abandoned in a ditch on Beco Road in St. Amant and witnesses have told deputies they saw Alexis walking from the vehicle, Bacala said.
He said that after two years, investigators do not have significant information that would help bring the case to a conclusion but are not making any assumptions.
“He (Alexis) just disappeared,” Bacala said.
Bacala said Alexis’ family members are tormented by his disappearance and would like to know where he is.
Those with information should call the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office at (225) 621-8300 or Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-STOP (7867).
