Labadieville man, 19, dies in crash on La. 1010
LABADIEVILLE — A Labadieville man died after he was thrown from his pickup early Monday in a single-vehicle crash on La. 1010 in Assumption Parish, Louisiana State Police reported.
Cody P. Gaudet, 19, failed to negotiate a curve on La. 1010 southbound around 3:49 a.m. in Labadieville, troopers said in a statement Monday.
The 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche that Gaudet was driving ran off the highway into a cane field, flipping over several times, troopers said.
Gaudet, who was not wearing his seatbelt, was ejected, troopers said. The Assumption Parish Coroner’s Office pronounced him dead at the scene, trooper said.
Alcohol use is suspected and speed appears to be a factor in the crash, troopers said. Results from blood tests are pending from the Coroner’s Office.
